Writing a personal narrative.
You may choose to write about an event you experienced that is important to you and will be of enough general interest to engage your audience or you may choose to draft a literacy narrative (see. p 179).

Tell an engaging story with a clear sequence of events.
Use engaging details and clear descriptions.
Make a point of some kind.
*Attention to Context and Stance
Draw clear connections between your story and how it speaks to a larger theme.
Choose an effective narrative tone (funny, serious, informative).
*Attention to Audience
Present your story in a way that interests others.
Consider what your audience already knows and what you need to explain in greater detail.
1000 to 1200 words minimum.
Follow all guidelines for an MLA formatted paper on p. 571, 574-575.
including using Times New Roman, 12-point size font and double-spacing.
